It's a bird.. its a Plane... it's Maycie, Gaige, Mommy, and Jana on a plane!

This April we got the chance to go to Oregon to see my niece Ana get babtized and spend some time with all my siblings and all the cousins! We realized that it was Easter weekend, and Maycie's spring break was the week before, so instead of driving we "HAD" to FLY... DARN!

This was Gaige's first time and a plane and I was very nervous... but he did GREAT! We were so lucky that Aunt Jana got to come with us! So the first flight Jana sat with Maycie, and Gagie and I sat behind them. It was so fun!

When we landed in Portland, my Brother in-law James was waiting for us, perfect timing! We had to make the 2 hour drive to Astoria, Or. If you have never been to Astoria it is quite a famous place! The "Goonies" House is here! It was so crazy to see!

Astoria is also home to the "Kindergarten Cop" school! My niece Ana attends the school and lives just across the street! Astoria is so beautiful! The entire city is built on the side of a hill! It is full of huge long bridges, and many historical sites! It was so green and so exciting to be surrounded by the ocean. We loved seeing all the different kinds of ships and boats in the harbor.

One thing that we got to see was the Tower. We didn't get to go up it but it was still really neat to see it and the view was incredible! One of things that we were so excited to do was go see the seals! They make the loudest sounds Maycie loved it!
There was just on little thing that didn't agree with all the sight seeing plans, the weather! But, there was no way we were going to let a little wind and rain get in the way of our fun!

So we decided to take the party indoors for a while. We took the kids to walk around one of the little malls. There happened to be a carousel and they had a BLAST! We even got a chance to see the Easter Bunny!
We stayed in Sea Side at a Beach House and we were so excited! We had so much fun all hanging out together the entire weekend was jam packed full! There was never a dull moment! We were either rockin out to "sing star" or I was freaking out thinking the kids were going to fall down the stairs, (I realized that I am a "little" more paranoid then any of my other siblings, me paranoid I know crazy right) and when all the kids were in bed (well most kids) we were up late , really late, talking and laughing about everything and anything! All the kids had a blast no matter what we were doing! It was so great to have all of us them together. I sure wish that Kasey could have been there too.
On our last day in Oregon I was determined to take my kids to the beach, we kept putting it off thinking there would be a break in the weather. We were running out of time so I just said OK lets bundle up head out. The beach house was just a short walk to the beach so I thought how bad could it be. So we went... We weren't gone any longer than 10 min before we were soaked to the bone and freezing! We didn't make it to the water, but I got my picture of the kids at the beach! What a GREAT TRIP!! I cant wait to go back!

This summer my Grandpa Schlappi passed away

all the family! It was the first time in a long time
that all my borthers and Sisters were together and for me that was a happy day! I just wish that
it would have been for longer!

In Sep. my baby girl started School. I didn't cry at reg. I didn't cry at the Meet and Greet, I didn't even cry when she climbed on the bus...but about and hour after she was gone it hit me and then there were tears!
Gaige can turn any frown right into a smile. He is always ready to make someone laugh! He is so fun! He also became a "Man" Because he has a shot gun (toy) and goes potty standing up! His words not mine.. I think Daddy has something to do with that! HALLOWEEN

What a GREAT Helper!

With today being Friday it is laundry day. I asked Maycie to go take her laundry basket and pick up all her dirty cloths from her room. She said "How do I do that." Even though she knows how I said "Pick one up, look at it, if it is dirty put it in the basket." A few min later she came down looking very proud of herself and said to me..

"Mom, aren't you so happy that I did your JOB!"

WHAT A BIG BOY!!

The other day I went in to check on Gaige from his nap and this is what I found...I wonder if he tripped or just thought it was comfy, either way he wasn't in his bed, and never was so he is moving up from a tiny toddler bed to....

.. a BIG BOY BED! This was his first time sleeping in it, Maycie fixed it just for him. Yes he is sleeping with his golf club!

When he woke up, this is what we got.... another FIRST! A RASH! I was hoping it was chicken pox, but not such luck! Just a rash, a little benadryl and he was fine,

Later this same day another FIRST! I went to go check on Gagie and I couldn't find him, I asked if anyone knew where he was, I started calling his name and I hear this little "HU" coming from the bath room and this is what I found..

He was going potty all by himself! Notice Daddy's book that he found! What a DAY! I wonder what tomorrow will bring! WHAT A BIG BOY!!!

Birthday Boy!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREVOR!!
The big 26!! He is on the down hill slope from here! (so he says)
This is such a cool birthday, he is exactly half his dad's age, and it will never happen again!

He started the day off with golfing with his dad and two "buddies" . They all came back here to get ready for a BBQ, and we got to surprise him (for once) with a new BBQ!! He has wanted one for a long time!! He loved it!!

We had oysters, clams, shrimp, and scallops, and then moved on to dinner. KABOBS GALORE!! The day ended with cheese cake and a poker game! I think he had a great day!!

I LOVE YOU!!

(PS. this blog took me 3 days to post. Does anyone else have problems with the pictures taking forever to upload? )

VALENTINES PARTY!!

I Love Valentines Day! It was very strange having it on a weekend though. I always do a HUGE Valentines party on VALENTINES DAY for the kids, (daycare and all) This year we had it a few days early but Still FUN!!

Maycielyn and Gaige
After their
"Heart Attacks"I tried so hard to get a good picture of the kids together, after many, many failed attempts I said "Everyone do a funny face!" and they all did! It turned out pretty cute!!

Here we are waiting for our Valentine exchange, notice the pinata in the center of the table. Not the most attractive thing, but hey it is just going whacked to pieces in 10 min anyways.

I thought it was a great idea for the kids to do a pinata, until I held it up for the first hit, and got whacked in the leg. It then was more like a golf thing and they hit it on the floor. After a few hits by each I held it up and dumped it out!! They didn't mind they got the candy all the same.

After all the fun and games it was time for lunch! Mini heart pizza, the famous mac 'n cheese, fruit and yogurt with sprinkles, and yes an ice cream cupcake at lunch! I bet you can guess what they went for first! They loved it!
The kids had a great Valentines PARTY!

Like I said it was strange to have Valentines on a Saturday. We started out with breakfast with Gram, Pop, Niki, Luke, Logan, Eric, Cole, the four of us at Golden Coral Buffet. Where we all got stuffed! Then headed over to Grams house for games and dinner. I did get something very special though. I used to listen to this country singer named Lila McCann years ago, and through the years lost her CD. Trevor went all over trying to find her CD that they don't make anymore, and finally found it! I was so excited I have been listening non stop!! I love it! Not your traditional romantic day, but it is great to be surrounded by the people you love!

Sick kids!!

This has been quite the year so far! We have been dealing with some sickies here and it is no fun! Gagie and Maycie have had a cough off and on sense before Thanksgiving, and for me I don't take my kids into the Dr. unless they really need to go. I guess this time I waited too long, oops! Two weeks ago on a Tue, Gagie was having a hard time getting a good breath, I decided he needed to go in, I took him into the closest office and after dealing with the most awful nurse in the world, the Dr. finally got into the room, took one look at Gagie and said "He needs a breathing treatment NOW!" I hope that no one has to go through that, having to hold your screaming baby down and hold a mask over his face, not to mention the machine sounds like a monster, is not a fun experience. Two hours later, 2 antibiotics, and a take home inhaler, and we finally got to go home! He has Bronchitis! Two days later at 11:00pm. he wakes up really having a hard time breathing, I give him his inhaler, doesn't help, I try everything, and I cant get him breathing right, and his fever is 104 nothing working so I call "ask a nurse" After following all of her instructions we decide he needs to go in, so at 6am I head over to the urgent care by our house. It took us two of the breathing treatments to get his oxygen levels up to a safe 95%! The Dr. then lets me know that it is probably pneumonia, but the only way to be sure is a chest xray and she doesn't want to put him through that so she sends us home with more antibiotics and a nebulizer (Breathing treatment machine) And says he has to have it 2-4 times a day! Great I get to tourcher my child 2-4 times a day! I am really excited! (I am sure you can sense the sarcasm) After the first couple of days he starts to get a ton better! Monday we wake up and I give the kids a bath, when maycie gets out I notice that she has a rash on her cheeks and her arms and legs. I start to look at it and realize .."oh no" I have only seen pics of what I thought it was, so I confirmed over the Internet. It is fifths disease. (same family as like rosiola) The more common name is the "Slapped Cheek" We call the Dr. and she says it just has to run it's course. So just when Gagie is getting better Maycie gets this. Luckily it doesn't' affect her as much as it could have, she never got a fever just uncomfortable. It is so hard when she can tell me that her arms itch and there is nothing I can do for her! As of now we are all healthy. Maycie no longer looks like I slapped her cheeks, and Gagie is running around as fast as ever! I hope it stays this way! I done with the sickies for a long while!!

This is the mask that we have to use.

The machine isn't on which is why he isn't screaming!

But now you know what it looks like.
